"OVER AND ABOVE" FEATURED CAT
|
Jasper has already had one successful eye surgery - but needs more medical help. To learn more about Jasper click here.
Any donations to our "Over and Above" Fund on Jasper's behalf are greatly appreciated. To read more about this fund, see entry below.
NEW "OVER AND ABOVE" FUND for FRIENDS OF FELINES
Friends of Felines is proud to present our "Over and Above" Fund, dedicated to those homeless cats who need just a bit more than the usual routine medical care.
You may remember Buster, our brave orange kitten who, due to an intestinal stricture, could not eliminate without crying out in pain. After treatment at Cornell University, he is now a happy and much loved member of a real family. And Vivian, an abandoned long haired beauty who wandered into a leg hold trap. Thanks to her foster home and Animal Specialty Center, Vivian is now a comfortable member of a real family, too. And Jimmy Choo, Fred, Millicent, Roger, Jasper and so many other cats who wanted to live regardless of what it would cost us to fix their treatable injuries or illness; and who now enjoy happy and loving forever homes.
In many shelters, pets with "over and above" medical needs are destroyed due to lack of space or funding but we will never resort to this. Friends of Felines is dedicated to caring for homeless and forgotten felines in our community, whether feral cats needing to be neutered, adorable abandoned adoptable cats looking for a home, or cats with medical issues.
Please consider donating to this worthy Fund. We would be most grateful. Friends of Felines is a registered non-profit organization so all donations are tax-deductible. Click here for donation information or click our Paypal button on the lower right-hand banner of this page.
Vivian's Happy News
After successful surgery for a leg-trap injury, Vivian was adopted by a loving family with an existing cat. They just told us that both cats have "been out and open in our entire apartment for a few weeks now and they are getting along well.
She is such a great cat and we love having her around!"
Thanks to all those who donated to Vivian's care. We are establishing an "Over and Above Fund" for health care crises like Vivian's. To learn more, see above.

Foster Homes - and Volunteers - Always Needed
There are so many more homeless cats and kittens than foster homes. Kittens especially need to have early socialization with people before they are ready for permanent adoption. It is a great short-term commitment to help cats in need, especially if you are not ready or able to adopt a cat.
If being a foster parent to a homeless cat is not for you, there are many other ways to volunteer with Friends of Felines. Click on our volunteer section to learn more.
If you or someone you know is interested in fostering, please click here to fill out online adoption application. Or go to our Get Application section of the website.
If you would like information about other volunteer opportunities, please contact us by telephone: 203-363-0220 (New as of 9/07) or send email to cats@adoptapet.org
