"OVER AND ABOVE" FEATURED CAT
| Jelly Bean's photo is coming! |
Meet Jellybean, appropriately named because we are hard-pressed to think of a sweeter kitten! He is a nonstop purring machine, and we find that pretty amazing, considering his very significant health issue. Jellybean has a kneecap that does not move, causing his entire leg to be suspended in the air, making it vulnerable to tears in his ligaments. Despite this, he never misses a beat, and he is one hundred purr-cent happiness and sweetness. Like many of our rescued cats, we will never know if he was born this way or if trauma caused his condition. In another couple of months, when his growth has slowed, Jellybean will undergo a major operation, in hopes that his kneecap will then be able to move into its proper place. If Jellybean thinks he has it good now, he won’t believe how good his life is when he finally regains use of his leg. Surgery will be expensive, and his veterinary bills are mounting.

HOBBS

|
Hobbs is apparently a Yankees fan! He was brought to Stamford in the Summer of 2008 from Yankees Stadium, where he was found rummaging through trash for food. He is approaching two years of age and is cute (just look at those orange-gold spots) funny, sweet, playful, and affectionate.
Hobbs loves to be petted, is happy to curl up in your lap, has a great purr, and is rather adorable. He will playfully swat at your pant leg as you walk by. Over the past year, he has been surrounded by four resident cats and two human toddlers, and his youthful playfulness is currently annoying them a little! Hobbs is feeling just a bit picked-on but it is not in his nature to fight back.
As an only cat (if you can spare a lap) or as a companion to a gentle other cat, Hobbs could be that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow you've been searching for!

BUTTERNUT

Butternut is a beautiful two-year-old Mama who was discovered living under an elementary school with her four kittens. Butternut worked very hard to keep her family safe from a busy street, and the local wildlife.
Butternut is seeking a quiet home, with a person who will allow her time to continue to blossom. She interacts very well with other cats and friendly dogs.
Butternut has been spayed, vaccinated, and tested negative for FELV/FIV. If you would like to meet Butternut, please contact Kelli at (203)451-4278.

ANDY

The word "mellow" comes to mind when describing Andy, a handsome, gray and white tuxedo approximately five to six years of age. Andy must have many stories we'll never hear about, but we do know he managed to survive in a very high traffic area, an unfriendly neighborhood, and through harsh weather for years.
He'd already been neutered, so was clearly a tame, abandoned cat when FOF volunteers were trapping feral cats on his street. When they came across this very special cat, he rolled over and waved his legs in the air, begging to be taken care of. Because of his abandonment, it was with great sadness he was gently picked up and placed into a trap, but it is now with great joy that we offer this gentle and loving soul for adoption into a home where he will surely give comfort and warmth in exchange for the same.
A cat who has tested positive for FIV, Andy will nevertheless get along wonderfully with anyone, cat or dog, and especially humans, so it doesn't really matter about his FIV status. He is quiet and easy, like a stuffed animal but with the added benefit that he really purrs when touched.
To meet Andy, visit him at Natural Pet Supply (1000 Hope Street, Stamford) where he will be relaxing in the "popcorn cart"!
For more information on Andy, or testing positive for FIV, please go to our Nutrition & Health section or contact cats@adoptapet.org
